Congress by the Joint Campus Committee (JCC), Student poses unconcern in upcoming KSU AXIS to be held outline optical reasons.
The students union government of kogi state university, anyigba humbly writes to disassociate her involvement from the planned students Congress by the joint campus committee (JCC KOGI AXIS) schedule to hold tomorrow, April 20th, 2017 in lokoja.
The turn out of events after a brief meeting held in lokoja on 19th April with few available ksu students Resident in lokoja leads to the making of this decision.
The sug ksu regardless of situation must not fail to take decision that bothers on the security of all her members. Nonetheless, for the avoidance of doubt and clarity of purpose, this decision is banked on the following reasons:
1. Security report reveals that there is no adequate security provision for the said Congress as majority of the participants taking part in organizing the Congress do not have the legal jurisdiction to undertake such an assignment.
2. That the present executive of the JCC are yet to be officially inaugurated and their power in acting capacity is to be decided by the members of the committee. Note: that this decision is to be taken in a meeting with all the sug presidents and this obviously was not done.
3. Not withstanding the earlier invitation to same Congress, it is learnt that jcc as a student body has no mandate to call for students for Congress as the responsibility of the committee solely lies on the intervention of campus issues usually reported through the sug presidents akin to the zonal coordinators to the national Nans secretariat as a method of proper channel of information.
4. That permission is also not granted by the national nans secretariat as they claim not to have knowledge of the jcc organizing the Congress.
5. Ideally, such a Congress if need be should be held in any of the campuses and such venue should be decided by all the sug presidents.
6. That invitation to the said Congress is however bias as some participants are yet to be properly notified and they are yet to be resolved issues of bribery allegations against some of the supposed participants.
7. The activities of jcc is also noted to be championed by none students who want to take the avenue to gain it's selfish interest.
On a good note please be informed that the national secretariat of NANS has expressed willingness to organize a peaceful students protest schedule to hold next week. Members are coming from all over the institutions in Nigeria for solidarity for the closure of schools in kogi state.
Conclusively, all KSU students are advised to in their best interest disassociate themselves from the said proposed Congress.
