Danny Mills: “Frank Lampard Was Outstanding”
Danny Mills has given his reaction to the news that former Chelsea and England midfielder Frank Lampard has announced his retirement from professional football.
“Frank Lampard was outstanding. A fantastic footballer, great talent, great ability and he matched that with his professionalism and attitude,” he said.
“He took some stick during his career, was attempted to be ridiculed by some, but knuckled down. The amount of goals he scored was absolutely sensational. I was very fortunate to have played with him very early on in his career with England under-21s and the seniors.
“I played against him many, many times. Great attitude on the pitch and off the pitch he was always very approachable.
“An exceptional player, a great guy and I think he’ll be missed. Undoubtedly he would have untold offers, but he clearly wants to finish at the top and good luck to him in whatever he does.”
